Planned Companies Introduces Doorstep Trash Removal

New Luxury Service for Apartment and Condominium Residents;

Helps Lessen Odors and Reduce Exposure to Rodents and Insects for Property Managers

PARSIPPANY, NJ – August 13, 2020 – Planned Companies, the fast growing real estate services provider which operates in 11 states, announced today that it has introduced a new service for apartment – Doorstep Trash Removal Service.

Planned has positioned the Doorstep Trash Removal Service as a luxury offering for property managers to extend to their tenants. In addition to its convenience, Doorstep Trash Removal will help buildings lessen the foul odors common with household refuse and reduce the risk of infestation by rodents or insects in client facilities.

“Doorstep trash removal is something our clients have been asking about for a long time, especially during the current public health emergency. We have been piloting the service in some of our other markets, and this was the perfect time to roll it out nationwide,” said Planned Companies President and CEO Robert Francis. “Since more residents are staying at home because of the coronavirus pandemic, garbage and recycling amounts are at record levels throughout our client properties. This new service streamlines the process to make things easier for our clients and their tenants.”

The Doorstep service provides daily trash pick-up from outside tenant units five days a week, making trash removal routine and systematic. For residents, the process is simple. Bag trash and leave it outside the front door of your unit on the designate days, in a designated trash container provided by Planned Companies. A Planned Companies staff member picks up the trash and disposes of it cleanly and professionally in the building’s dumpster area.

“In the end, our commitment is to keep our clients’ properties clean and attractive, maintaining an attractive environment for tenants, their visitors and those looking for new residential options. With the public health emergency, this service allows building residents to remain safe and ensure their safety,” concluded Francis.

Technology also plays a role in the new service. Automated violation e-mails can be sent, with photos attached, if bags are not tied properly or are disposed in the wrong bin. Pickup verification can be performed using QR codes, allowing for customized reporting.

Initially, the Doorstep Trash Removal Service has been piloted at a number of managed properties in Planned Companies’ Bay Area, California service area. One property manager in that area recently commented, “Planned Companies offers a partnership that is vital to our overall business operation. Our Valet at property is friendly, hardworking and communicates real-time maintenance issues as they are identified while servicing the building, after business hours,” they said. “The local Planned team has succeeded in creating a protocol for reducing waste and upholding values on recycling procedures to reduce waste. In turn, we have had a substantial costs savings as it relates to monthly waste fees due to implementing more efficient disposal methods.  Their online platform streamlines all communications to the office, in detail, so we are able to address each issue individually and timely.”
