A mass shooting is defined as incidents involving 4+ victims of firearm-related violence, at one location, at roughly the same time, excluding gang-related killings, acts inspired by criminal profit and terrorism. There were 323 separate mass shooting incidents in the United States in 2018, that number increased to more than 423 in 2019.
